hi mummies... wanna check what did you use to store ebm? recently for convenient sake, i used milk storage bags.. cos i find it easier to transport it out to my parents plc.. and can fill 1 pack/feed nicely for my mom so easier for her no need to measure and then no need to wash bottles.

but hor so fast finish 1 box of bags and i find my heart is bleeding... hehe... so siong...

Who uses milk storage bag for everyday usage or You use milk storage bag for freezing only? -.-"'

Milk storage bottles i saw max is only 150ml... Let me know if there is one which is more than 150ml. tks.

I initially used for everyday usage cos too many pkts to transport home. Then I switched to bottles for everyday usage when I cut down on my expressing and only used milkbags for freezing.

I use the normal milk bottles, used the biggest size I can find that fits onto my pump.

I'm using storage bag to store my ebm but I don pour in. Instead I freeze them using the milk tray then put the desired stick in it n store reason being my amt pump varies from wat my ger is drinking, she drinking 150 but I'm pumping ranging from 130 to 240. N yes it is cutting a hole into my pocket but wat to do it tk up less space than btl.

I used playtex milk bags, its very cheap. Only problem is that its not self-sealing. So we will have to get those clips to tighten the bags. I think Playtex bag is about 100ml. and cost about $15 for 100bags. so its really very cheap. even every day throw away also will not feel so heart pain. hehe.

Playtex is 120ml. But must be careful when sealing to prevent leakage.

ops my bad. I must have rem it wrongly. Yeap, just have to be careful with the sealing. I use those clips that can seal the bags (for example those clips that are for sealing the gua zi)

Playtex is actually not a milk bag. It's a milk liner and is not meant to store milk in fridge, that's why the plastic is thinner and not as leak proof as proper milk bags. However there are mummies out there who have used liners to store their ebm successfully.

hey catherlyn - I just bought the milk tray. I would like to chk with you, how long do you freeze before you trf them to the storage bag? And how do you warm it? in the bag or trf into bottles then warm up? You use your fingers to take the frozen milk?

for me I will freeze for abt 2 feed session, 5-6 hr then I will xfer them into the milk bag. Currently storing 5 bars/bag. I thaw it in the bag as they get heat up better than in btl unless u using milk warmer. Ya I use my fingers but I wash throughly before handling them meaning prepare the milk bag write dwn the date, wash hands n loosen the bar n put them inside. As I only use my thumb n 2nd finger to tk the bars, I will use the rest to open the bag.

i second that milk trays are a good investment. less wastage and saves storage space in the freezer. they look like ice cube trays just that they are in rectangle bars and come with a lid.

how do you all dry the milk tray after washing? will it get "contaminated" if just leave it on the rack to dry? will u rinse with cooled water before pouring in the ebm?

For me after washing I will put on the rack to dry but once it is dry I will keep with the lid on. If I'm running out of them I.e. Need to store new btl of ebm but both trays used up I will wash n then wipe it dry with the kitchen towel then store them. If on the rack overnight in the morning I will wash again cos scare wait got lizard or wat walk pass haha

Hi Woofy55

I normally freeze all my ebm in milk storage bags and would pumped out average 400ml - 500ml a day. Though milk bags are quite ex, I managed to get from this forum a very good deal, Nanny Breastmilk storage bags. Excellent and cheapest, you may want to check it out :
