May I know is there a long waiting time to get the appointment for Oscar scan? I just managed to get my first appointment on 28th January to see Dr. TC Chang.

Snakemummy26: oscar scan went well i feel, but the sonographer keep complaining that baby is not cooperative...but she manage to scan what she needed....it seems that the results will be reviewed by my gynae instead....so need to wait for 8 feb then i will know if baby is okay...
Hmm..tried the nub theory..saw the scan..i feel my baby like might be a girl...but my gut feeling was telling me it is a boy...now very confused....must wait till 8 feb to see if baby will let us see the gender...now dont know to call him or her....
but at least most important baby needs to be healthy....but i am abit worried...cos during the previous ultrascan and oscar scan...baby like never move the legs...i only see his/her hands moving...so i abit worried...i keep reading and see that most baby will dance with both hands and leg...hopefully its okay...

dun worry too much. i think not all babies dance for the scan. perhaps your bb asleep at that time? so not much movements.
did u take a blood test also? mine on 16 got blood test leh. i super scared of needles... but i think no choice. hahaha....
let us know when you know the gender. u and ur hubby got preference?

I wanted to have the scan on 15 feb (friday) but fully booked!!!! tats y i have to go for the sat slot (18 feb oso full!!!), and i need to pay extra. becoz its a sat.
nurse say have to do the scan between week 11 and week 13. suay suay mine is during the cny season, so the schedule very full.
i suggest the next appt, u book the OSCAR scan date first. if Dr Chang confirms ur EDD.
Yah my hubby also say dont be too concern....needles are scary but at least the blood test seems to be fast. Yup oscar scan + blood test. These have to be done together i think in order to do the caculations.
Yah actually both me and my hubby would like a baby boy.
My hubby is worried to get a girl because of his "karma" wahaha...in his life he cheated and broke too many girls heart le...but he was saying either boy or girl is okay....But its quite interesting during oscan scan...cos the baby was incooperative so the doctor was using the scanner and shaking my tummy..=.=" baby totally ignore her...then i gentle touch my tummy and said to baby shift further out k...let doctor scan you...then the baby slowly move abit allowing the doctor to scan...
but i think my baby is a night baby.. my ms always around 6pm after....=.="
Result not immedaite...unless maybe its done by your doctor? My doctor sent me to another clinic to do....blood test and scan will be sent back to him. My next appointment is on 8 Feb....then most likely results will be out...*crossing fingers* quite a long wait....
your first appointment is on 28th January? How come so long? is this the first scan? Do you know your due date already?

eh.. MamaLve which week were you in when you did this scan ? Cos 1 feb is my 12 weeks, and when I went for my last scan on 8 Jan, my baby is still very small, and only can listen to the heartbeat wo... like no noticeable movements
Then ... I a bit scared.... cos doc only give me 1 multi vits to take each day, and I got left over folic acid (5mg)...... so I thought, might as well as finish it, now I a bit scared I overdose
Thanks for sharing MamaLve, I'll check with the doc again when I see her to see if I need to take any more supplements other than the multi vit i'm taking now
Talk to your BB that you are going to visit him/her on the morning. And, ask for co-operative. =) Shouldn't be a problem.
My last visit, I was in my 11 weeks. Actually, my first time listen to Baby heartbeat was on my second trip, when I was 7 weeks plus.
As for the folic acid, you can continue taking. Don't waste it. Cos, I ask the nurse, I still have balance of folic acid, so she ask me to continue taking it, else it will be a waste.
I'm currently on Folic Acid (Leftover), Iron, Calcium and Fish Oil. Took all this in three separate timing a day, morning, afternoon and night.

I will be doing oscar scan next sat and still thinking whether should I go for it or not because I'm only 25 and hubby is 29. But like some say DS can affect any age you are in. Need some opinions!

Erm, if it doesnt bother you, den maybe you can opt out for this scan.
But, if you want to play safe, it is worth spending the amount of money. =) Although is pricey. But, at least yesterday baby bonus announcement did help out abit la.. haha.. =p

By time I see Doctor Chang for my 1st appointment, I will be in my 9th weeks. Based on the calculator, my EDD is 28 August so i am abit worried that I cannot get a date that fall within 11th or 13th week. Now very stressed and worried as I am in late 30s' and this is my first pregnancy. I fall under the category of high risk pregnancy. I decided to go with TC Chang because he specialised in such cases. The wait to my 1st appointment is quite agonising, I can't stop myself from worrying....sigh.

Mamalve, can you let me know which ones u take in the morning, which ones in afternoon and which ones at night? i completely forgot what the nurse told me and i threw away the boxes... hahaha.... i know one of them cannot take with milk right? i now taking fish oil, calcuim, B6 and one call New Obimin... seems to be a multi vitamins and mineral supplement...

Mayakamrsfoo, i know how you feel. i'm 33 this yr, having my first baby. I was diagnosed with PCOS and my menses was never regular. i went thru a lot of western medicine and TCM, this baby come just when i was about to give up and go for IUI.
i know the wait is horrendous. but trust in urself, trust in ur bb. everything will be fine. dun be too stressful, stress is not good for us. distract urself, start on a korean/hong kong drama. surf youtube for funny videos and think on the bright side. ur baby is strong so you also need to be strong for your baby.
we are here to share each other's joy and worries. if u need someone to talk to, or if u have any queries, we can all share what we know with you.

Dont worry too much....stress is also not good for baby....hmm...if you are now in 9 weeks...means by the next scan you will see baby waving at you already!!! that will be a wonderful feeling for you
My oscar will be on 28 jan at TMC. Mt A does not provide oscar test
But then the nurse told me 28th booking is full, just walk-in at 8.30am! Cannot change date cuz Dr instructed that date. Wa, cant imagine the wait time if TMC priotize the bookings. I find a bit ridiculous.. Sigh

I had Folic Acid & Iron in the morning, follow by Calcium in the afternoon and fish oil at night.
These are what I took. =)
Erm, I'm not sure about the one that can't be take with milk. But I remember if you take iron, try to take it 1-2 hrs later after you drank coffee / caffein drinks. =)

Oh yah...just becareful the dosage of folic acid you take. I read online saying cannot take too much folic acid also max 800g? if not there is a chance baby will have autism....
Will be checking with my doc the next visit whether should i still be taking folic acid..as what i heard folic acid is only for first trimester?
