I saw this instruction manual from the bbt thermometer (attached)

It seems that the best time to bd is when temperature drop

Correct me if I'm wrong, I have all along thought it's supposed to be bd when there's a hike in bbt???!!!

Lol no expert! I only love to stalk bbt charts that's all.

Firstly, the dip you're refering to is just textbook. I have been bbt-ting so many cycles and I only experienced it once. And according to bbt and doc, I have no problem ovulating.

And another thing I may like to correct you is no, you should not only bd after the temp goes up. In theory, when the temp is up, it means you have already popped an egg (because just after your egg pops, your body produces progesterone which is the reason to slightly higher temp).

In best scenario, the sperms should be in the queue in the fallopian tube. Meaning it's best that once the egg comes out, it's "invaded" by the strongest sperm. Once your egg is fertilised, don't forget it takes days to transform itself to a blastocyst. These few days are spent travelling in your tube until the perfect day it's implanted onto your womb.

So you see, if you bd after temp hike, it's probably too late. Best is bd 1-2 days before you O. Because sperm needs time to travel to your end of your tube and moreover there's a process (I can't remember the process name) that also needs time for the sperms to be conditioned to be able to penentrate/fertilise an egg.

so far I have been relying on my ewcm, I'll start alternate day bd once I have watery cm even before ewcm occurs.

Correct ma? Hope I didn't get this confused too :p

Will you be using opk Soursop?

I guess depends on both your energy. For my man, I think he performs best when I start to have ewcm all the way till one, two days after my positive opk. Based on last cycle, I think my ewcm appeared cd10, +opk on cd13, o-ed cd14, temp shift up cd15. So this cycle I hope to bd cd11/13/15.

Merry christmas to all here! I'm a newbie to this forum and also ttc since last yr. i got married last sept and had been trying since then. I had v v irregular menses, somethings i will have spotting up till 2 wks but still no menses. i went for a blood test n my gynae told me tat i was not ovulating. Was on 2 cycles of clomid and no improvement at all.
Went to c tcm this wk, the sinseh ask y my gynae nvr give me a scan but was onli given blood test after clomid. (i not sure if this is correct??)
But anyway, i start the chinese medication today and hope it will help.
Btw, the chinese sinseh ask me to go for a scan on day 14 of my menses. I not going back to my gynae anymore, so could i ask can this scan perform easily outside? How do i tell the gynae the scan i wan?

apple121079: when i was on clomid, gynea did a scan to see no. of follices that had developed..the scan will also show the size of follice..your gynea should do a scan to monitor the follices while on clomid..u shud ask ur gynea abt this..no pt put u on clomid n never monitor on this..

I am not sure what is the "standard". But if it's from my personal experience, I did have scanning before and after I ovulated. Gynae had never done any blood test for me on that. But blood test after supposedly ovulation should also be able to tell if you ovulated due to the progesterone level.

If you're in doubt, surely good to seek 2nd opinion. I think you can call the clinic and talk to the gynae and tell him/her you suspect you're not ovulating and also ask if he's going to perform transvaginal scan on that.

I did call my fertility specialist and talk to him over the phone before I decided to make trip down.

By the way, Apple, did you get a trigger shot of HCG to help you ovulate? I suspect you didnt. Because the HCG shot is administered only when the gynae has scanned your follie size and he thinks it's time for you to pop the egg then he will jab that shot.

For the 2 cycles of clomid i was having, the gynae onli ask me to go for blood test on day 24 menses. I think is the progesterone level u gals are talking about. I was not given any shots as well. The onli shot given was i had menses for 2 wks non stop n my gynae gave a shot to stop the menses.
So now i on tcm, n the sinseh was telling me to go for a scan on Day 14. Any gynae to intro in the East? And i juz call up the clinic to say i wan to do a scan to c if i am ovulating?? Sorry for all the noob qns!

Whether to scan exactly on Day14 or not it really depends on your cycle pattern. CD14 may be too generic.

Which CD are you on today? I suggest you just call the gynae today and he will advice you best when to start the scan. Not sure of any gynae from East. I did mine at GlenE.

hi Apple, me also suspecting I m not O-ing...

went to a Christmas dinner and saw so many couple ard my age having their little ones (toddlers, infants..) running ard, squealing... and suddenly the turkey in my mouth tastes lk lemon...

Gals, come on!!!! gimme some moral boast here coz I m so on the verge of giving up liao... since the stooped d&c I had on aug, I m slowly losing faith with every passing mths of seeing red.. argh!!!!!!!

think no horsey bb for me already.. sob sob....

Happy boxing day btw... and I feel lk boxing my insensitive hubs tonite. That bugger still relax relax over our childless state.

I also feeling the stress lor.. my hubby cousin marry 3 mths after us n their bb arriving nxt mth..... Lets juz jy together!!

Btw i'm on day 6 of my menses and onli chinese medication nw. my sinseh wan me to scan to c gt any eggs. she was surprised that my gynae onli did blood test on me after clomid.

My hubby also not worried one everytime juz ask me to take it easy.... i got a group in fb... most of them getting preggy, c them announce everytime on fb make me more stress and keep on wondering y is it always easier for others and not for me?

You all gals don't stress stress from seeing others with babies! Stress is no good ok. We can't do anything even if the neighbour you hate most got 10 kids... it's not our time yet means it's not. So take it to our stride ladies!

Maq/Apple, me on cd6. No 2ww yet. Tonight clear army. Next week me fertile so time to dance in the bedroom :)
